3 Awesome breakfast spots in Vienna

Blah-blah-blah breakfast is the main meal of the day blah-blah-blah.
I love breakfasts because it is the beginning of the day, it is an opportunity to give the proper mood for the whole day, and when I am traveling I prefer to avoid hotel breakfasts (usually they’re boring and the same everywhere). Here are my 3 favorite places for breakfast in my tenderly loved Vienna.

Cafe|Restaurant|Bar Ulrich

Crowded as hell! If you are afraid of not finding the place, here is the phone number.
But breakfast menu is absolutely great and it is impossible to choose anything if you are the same food-lover as I am. I wanted to try everything, and everything sounded so delicious!
The whole menu breakfast consists of 7 sections plus extras; each section suggests different variety of food: breakfast sets, egg meals, sandwiches, smoothies, desserts and pastry, fruity breakfasts. After torturous process of choosing I stopped on muesli with yogurt and fruits and avocado sandwich with fresh cheese and chili.
It was a lot. It was so much a lot! The plate of muesli is created, I guess, for people who work 12h/day and not in the office:) But everything is very tasty, and what is more important – you feel the quality. It is not just food, or just fuel – it is pleasure.

Cafe Tanzen Anders

One more breakfast spot which shouldn’t be avoided. It is small and cozy place with just few tables, regular, you know, New York style place with high ceiling, long lamps, lots of free space around you. Very nice. I loved it. And I loved breakfast!
It was scrambled eggs with avocado (yeah, I love it!) and fresh cheese (and this stuff also). My husband had egg/bacon toast.
Menu is quite small but has nice variety of teas. Also I have to mention great coffee there.
Being a small place, it is better to reserve the table, however, we didn’t do it and it was almost empty when we came and so-o-o full when we were leaving.

Attention! They change menu sometimes, so you might not get the same meal. Check the menu on their web-site (German only)

Breakfast prices: ~9EUR

Ziegelofengasse 29, 1050 Wien

Cafe Dommayer

If you are looking for something very typical Viennese and very traditional – go to Dommayer. It is exceptionally lovely place with perfect service, perfectly looking staff, and dessert counter is long as life. You will not meet here hipsters because it is place where the regular audience is slightly older. But you can take a fresh newspaper in the vintage holder, take good coffee and crunchy croissant and start the day feeling awesome. People there are quite and polite, music is lovely and calm, everything is great about this place. Especially food.

I ordered croissant (which was so tasty and melting!) and granola with fruits and yogurt (my typical set, yes). My husband took some eggs with vegetables and bacon sneakily hidden under the layers of food:)

Breakfasts here are more expensive than in other places but still… It depends on the amount of food.

Breakfast price: from 5,20EUR to 17,90EUR (that one is really huge!)

Working hours
Monday – Sunday         07:00 – 22:00
Breakfasts                      07:00 – 11:30

Dommayergasse 1
1130 Vienna

I cannot say which one I liked most because all them have charm and mood. All of them are different and suggest different food with different prices (even if all them have same classical options like croissants, granola etc.). Mostly it is a question of taste and your mood. Choose any!
